Sunnyvale Town Center

Sunnyvale is one of the major cities comprising the Silicon Valley region, and it serves as home to Yahoo!, Jupiter Networks, Fortinet, and a number of other major tech companies that serve as the city's largest employers. Like the cites of surrounding cities in the area including Mountain View and Palo Alto, Sunnyvale was originally home to the Ohlone native Americans, who were present when the Spanish arrived in the region in the 1770s. By the mid-19 th century, the area was widely used for ranching before the towns of Mountain View and Sunnyvale were developed.

The center of Sunnyvale was formerly a massive indoor center in place of a traditional downtown, which has been demolished and is in the process of reconstruction. This revitalized downtown district will serve as a center for local shops, restaurants, and galleries showcasing the culture of the city. Sunnyvale is also one of the more bicycle-friendly communities in the Silicon Valley recognized by the League of American Bicyclists.
